Your Rating:
The textbook glass-and-steel American skyscraper slab takes a simple, yet elegant twist with this blue glass and white aluminum tower. At its heart it is another boring block, but with its leading and trailing edges curved, it is different from other less interesting buildings that have come before it. The 50-story building is one of the icons of the Houston skyline, and in the blazing Texas sun it reflects light in all directions, only serving to draw more attention to itself. The building stands out not only for its appearance, but its stance. Unlike the buildings surrounding, it deviates from the downtown grid to greet people head-on and show the world its glittering expanse.

>2 December, 2003 - Two years after the bankruptcy of Enron, the skyscraper is auctioned off. The building goes to a group led by a local doctor. The winning bid was $55,500,000.00.
